Engine Driven Pumps

Also from: EDP

There are 2 EDPs mounted on the accessory gearbox on each engine. They require N3 rotation to deliver pressure. If an EDP is deprived of fluid for lubrication and cooling, the pump input shaft fails after approximately 10 minutes. This can happen, for example, when the fire pb is released.

Electrical power is required to turn off the engine driven pumps (via a solenoid).

The FAULT light on an engine driven pump pb illuminates when:

  • reservoir low level
  • reservoir overheat
  • reservoir low air pressure
  • pump low pressure (inhibited on the ground with engines off)
