Batteries
The 2 NiCd 24V DC, 27A batteries are the secondary DC source. Battery 2 provides APU start, and both batteries power essential DC loads in case of total power loss until the RAT is working. Battery 1 is in the forward e-bay, battery 2 is in the aft e-bay. Any available AC source can charge both batteries.
Control panel
With the battery switch OFF, only the hot battery bus is powered from that battery.
With battery 2 switch in AUTO, the battery 2 contactor will close except during an APU start.
MFD
18 Volts is the minumum voltage for EICAS display on MFD
When the Battery temp reachs 70 degress, digits turn red and EICAS warning 'BATT 1(2) OVERTEMP
