Air Data and Inertial Reference System

Also from: ADIRS

Provides air data and inertial information to the EFIS, FMGC, and other users (fly-by-wire controls, engine management system, GPWS, transponder, SFCC). The system consists of:

Air Data Modules

Connected to each of the pitot probes and static ports (the 2 standby static ports are connected to 1 ADM) and supply numerical data to the ADIRUs. Only the standby instruments (such as ISIS [Integrated Standby Instrument System] ) get speed and altitude information directly from pneumatic inputs without processing by an ADM.

Failures

NAV ADR 1(2) FAULT- speed and altitude information lost from affected PFD
- AIR DATA sw should be selected to failed side
- failed ADR [Air Data Reference] and GPWS must be switched off
NAV ATT DISCREPANCY- different attitude displayed on captain's and first officer's PFDs
- ATT HDG sw should be selected to failed side
