Probe Heat
Electrical heating is provided for probes:
- pitot ports (low heat level on the ground, normal in-flight)
- static ports
- angle of attack probes
- total air temperature probes (not heated on the ground)
Three PHCs [Probe Heat Computers] control and monitor the captain probes, F/O probes, and standby probes. Probes are heated when:
- automatically, with 1 engine running or in-flight
- manually, with PROBE/WINDOW HEAT pushbutton switches ON
