Flight Crew of Aircraft, Licences and Ratings

Commercial pilot's licence

The minimum age is 18. The maximum age is 65.
The maximum validity period is 10 years.
Can only fly a single-pilot certified aircraft for the purpose of public transport.
If over 60 (and operating in public transport), the aircraft must have dual controls and there must be a second pilot under 60.
For aircraft above 20,000kg (operating in public transport), a CPL holder cannot act as co-pilot if 60 or over. (Can act as the pilot-in-command up to 65 though.)

Airline transport pilot's licence

The minimum age is 21.
The maximum validity period is 10 years.
Cannot operate as pilot-in-command or co-pilot on aircraft above 20,000kg for public transport above the age of 60.

Flight radiotelephony operator's restricted licence

The minimum age is 17.
The maximum validity period is 10 years.
Only allowed to operate a transmitter or adjust its frequency using external switches.

Ratings

The following ratings may be included in a pilot's licence.

Aircraft Ratings: allow the holder to be pilot-in-command of the specific type (flight engineers also have aircraft ratings)
Instrument Rating (Aeroplanes): allow the holder to act as pilot-in-command or co-pilot
Night Rating (Aeroplanes): entitle the holder of a PPL to act as pilot-in-command at night

Certificate of test or experience

Case C (flight for public transport) states that a CPL or an ATPL used for public transport require a certificate of test. A certificate of test is valid for 6 months, although if a second test is done at least 4 months after, but prior to the expiration of, the first test, the validity period is 13 months from the first test.

A certificate of test required for an instrument rating is valid for 13 months.
