TIBA

TIBA is also known as IFBP.


Frequency

One radio set must be tuned to ATS, the other to the TIBA frequency. The TIBA frequency is:

  • at or above FL200, 128.95 MHz; or
  • below FL200, the applicable Class G FIA frequency in other than oceanic areas, otherwise 126.35 MHz.

Listening watch

A listening watch must be maintained on the TIBA frequency 10 minutes before entering the designated airspace until leaving this airspace.


Time of broadcasts

Broadcasts must be made:

  • 10 minutes before entering the airspace;
  • 5 minutes prior to crossing a reporting point;
  • 5 minutes prior to crossing or joing an ATS contingency route;
  • at 20 minute intervals between reporting points;
  • 2 to 5 minutes before a change in level;
  • at the time of a change of level; and
  • at any other time necessary.

Position reporting

A position report must be made on the next CTA/FIA frequency 15 minutes prior to leaving the airspace.
