Fuel Control and Monitoring Computer

Also from: FCMC

There are 2 FCMCs. FCMC 1 is normally the active computer and controls fuel transfers, although both computers are used for quantity indications.

The inputs to the system are:

  • ADIRS, for aircraft attitude
  • FCDC, for THS position
  • LGCIU, for landing gear up/down and flight/ground signals
  • SFCC, for slats extended
  • MCDU data, for initial values

Failures

If both FCMCs fail, a backup system in the FEs is used for gross weight and CG calculations, based on initial figures and the fuel burn.
