Pneumatic System

Supplies high pressure air for:

  • air conditioning;
  • wing anti-icing (not when the source is the APU);
  • water pressurisation;
  • hydraulic reservoir pressurisation; and
  • engine starting.

The sources are:

  • engine bleed system;
  • APU; and
  • 2 external ground units.

Control is done through 2 BMCs, 1 for each engine bleed system.

Note that the APU bleed has priority over engine bleed (engine bleed valves will be closed by their BMC).
