Cargo Air Conditioning

Ambient air from the cabin is mixed with cold air from the packs through a cold air valve and hot bleed air through a trim air valve, and enters the cargo compartment via 2 inlet isolation valves. Air is extracted from the aircraft through an extract fan and outlet isolation valve.

Heating is not available to the aft cargo compartment. For the bulk cargo compartment, only 1 inlet isolation valve is fitted and heating is performed by an electrical fan heater.

Cargo ventilation controller

Controls the inlet and outlet isolation valves and extraction fan. The isolation valves and extraction fan are not displayed on the COND page.

Controls

HOT AIR pb swoperates the fan heater for the bulk cargo compartment according to temperature selector position
temperature selectorsthe mid point is approximately 15°C

Failures

COND FWD(AFT) CRG ISOL FAULT- ventilation is lost in the cargo compartment because either the inlet or outlet isolation valve is not as selected
- FAULT light illuminates on ISOL VALVE pb on CARGO AIR COND panel
