Hyperventilation

Over breathing, or breathing at a rate greater than required to remove CO₂. The effect is a lack of CO₂ causing the blood pH to increase and become too alkaline (causing alkalosis).

Because the symptoms are similar to hypoxia, above 10,000' assume hypoxia, otherwise assume hyperventilation.

The treatment is to breathe into a paper bag, and reduce the rate and depth of breathing.
