Avionics Smoke Detection

Two ionisation type detectors are located in the air extraction duct under the forward cargo compartment floor. Both detectors must detect smoke (if both are operational) for a positive smoke indication. Indications of smoke are on the VENTILATION overhead panel.

Note that the smoke detection is from within the avionics ventilation duct. There is no indication for smoke in the avionics compartment.
