ELPU
Emergency light power unit
3 are installed in the forward section of the fuselage, and 3 in the rear section. They automatically provide electrical power to the emergency lights under any of these conditions:
- power loss on DC Bus 1
- commanded by the crew (using the EMER LT switch on the Passenger Signs panel)
- in test mode (using the TEST button on the Emergency Light section of the flight attendant panel)
- activated from the flight attendant panel
They enable illumination for at least 10 minutes, and are recharged by DC Bus 1.
