Power

The EIS displays are powered by AC power. They are switched on using the brightness controls. Initially only failure flags will be displayed until the ADIRS and the FMGS come on-line.

Flight directors switch on automatically at power-up.

Screen failures

The PFD has priority over the ND, and the E/WD has priority over the S/D. Automatic switching occurs. If the E/WD screen fails, system display pages can be displayed by holding the appropriate pb on the ECAM control panel. The S/D can also be transferred to one of the ND screens using the ECAM/ND transfer switch.
