Engine Starting

Engines 1 and 2 are started first, followed by engines 3 and 4. Engine 2 powers the blue hydraulic system which pressurizes the parking brake.

Normal start

• Set ENG MASTER sw to ON for engine 1.
• At 10% N2, engine 2 can be started.
• At 16% N2 the active igniter is powered.
• At 22% N2 fuel flow begins.
• At 50% N2 the start valve closes and ignition stops.
• At 60% N2 stabilises.

After engines 1 and 2 display the AVAIL indication, follow the same procedure for engines 3 and 4.

Manual start

Wait until max motoring N₂ (at least 20%) before selecting the ENG MASTER sw to ON.
