Power Transfer Unit

The PTU supplies an additional volume of hydraulic fluid to operate the autoslats and leading edge flaps and slats.

Activation

The PTU operates automatically when all the following occur:

• system B engine driven pump hydraulic pressure drops below limits
• airborne
• flaps less than 15 but not up
