Thrust Reverser

In the forward thrust position, the translating cowl (transcowl) is in the forward stowed position covering the cascades. In the reverse thrust position, the transcowl is in the aft deployed position blocking the fan duct and exposing the cascades. The EICAS displays information on the position of the transcowl.

Thrust reversers are operated by 2 hydraulic actuators. The FADEC uses inputs from WOW, wheel speed, and TLA to activate system logic. The aircraft must be on the ground with the respective engine running. The FADEC limits thrust to idle until both thrust reversers are fully deployed, except for OEI.
