MAU

Modular avionics unit

Cabinets that house modules assigned to different functions in an integrated architecture. Houses avionics and non-avionics function.

Avionics functions:

• Air data application
• Autopilot
• Autothrottle
• Data acquisition
• Display control function
• Flight director
• Flight management system (MAU 2 has FMS 1, MAU 3 has FMS 2)
• Flight control modules (MAU 1 has FCM 1 and 2, MAU 3 has FCM 3 and 4)
• Global position system
• Monitor / warning system
• Stall protection / warning
• Windshear guidance

MAUs 1 and 2 are in the forward electronics bay, while MAU 3 is in the center electronics bay. MAU 1 has 20 slots, MAUs 2 and 3 have 16 slots each.
